We’ve seen the rumors re the upcoming announcement of the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite which is an affordable take on Samsung’s premium Galaxy Tab S7 series that launched in 2020, and now we have our first look at the affordable Galaxy Tab A7 Lite that is likely to be unveiled at the same time. Aimed at the opposite end of the spectrum, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is said to sport an 8.4-inch display and powered by a MediaTek processor.
Updated April 17: Evan Blass has posted an image showing that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will also launch in a silver colorway that boasts a relatively slim white bezel around the display. All-in-all, the MediaTek-powered Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is shaping up to be a promising entry in the affordable tablet segment when it’s announced in June.
The full-fat Galaxy Tab A7 that launched in 2020 costs around $250 and boasts a 10.4-inch display, Snapdragon 662 processor, 3/64GB, and a 7,040mAh battery, so the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite with its 8.4-inch display is a tad more portable. Thanks to Evan Blass (Voice), we know what it looks like and that there is a MediaTek Helio P22T chipset present along with 3GB of RAM and a 5,100mAh battery. As with most Android tablets, the rear camera isn’t accompanied by a flash module, but that’s no bad thing.
It’s not known as yet if the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will have an LTE version, but seeing as Samsung tend to offer its tablets in WiFi and cellular variants there’s no reason to think otherwise.
