As our faculty, staff and students shift to remote working environments, the need to ensure the security of user accounts and student data is even more critical. Adding multi-factor authentication provides a needed layer of protection for our campus.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18, after logging into applications such as email, Teams or Box, etc., faculty, staff and student employees will see a notification requesting more information. This notification is the starting point for the multi-factor registration process. Additional instructions on how to register will also be provided by email.
Individuals can skip the registration prompt if needed for 14 days. However, all individual UARK accounts will be required to register by Tuesday, March 31. This does not apply to secondary accounts.
“With much change happening quickly on campus, it is important to ensure our faculty, staff and student data remains secure,” Steve Krogull, interim CIO, IT Services said. “Multi-factor authentication adds a layer of security for employees accessing applications both on and off campus. Enabling this now also ensures that we are prepared to meet the needs of Workday this summer.”

Additionally, an IT Services support representative will be at the Arkansas Union Tech Spot on Wednesday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to answer questions and assist with setting up devices with multi-factor. Please bring your laptop and cell phone for the best experience.
