A Temecula man who had been reported missing was found safe on Friday, July 12, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.

Richard Tyrrell was last seen taking a ride-hailing service into Los Angeles from the Pechanga Resort & Casino near Temecula on July 8. Pechanga security assisted in the investigation.

“The investigation revealed Mr. Tyrrell voluntarily left the area,” a sheriff’s Twitter message said. No other details of his discovery were provided. The family asked for privacy.

“He needs some time to decompress & recover so we appreciate some private time,” Tyrrell’s girlfriend, Marcy English Sattelmaier, wrote in a Facebook post.

“We share in the community’s relief to hear of Rich Tyrell’s safe return,” Pechanga spokeswoman Jessica Newton said in a written statement.
