Intel Lands Agency Review of Another Learning Machine Patent – Bloomberg Law

Intel Corp. has convinced a patent office tribunal to review patents on learning machine technology that are part of a West Texas federal lawsuit brought by a molecular diagnostics company.

Intel has shown several claims in Health Discovery Corp.’s U.S. Patent No. 8,095,483 are likely invalid because they’re obvious, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said Monday. The board previously agreed to review two other HDC patents.

The PTAB reviews are part of a long-simmering feud between Intel and Atlanta-based HDC over learning machine technology used to identify patterns in data sets.
