Optimise settings on the iPhone
Apple says that the two simplest ways to save battery are: adjusting your screen brightness and using Wi-Fi as much as possible.
Dim the screen or turn on Auto-Brightness to extend battery life.
Here’s how you can dim the screen on the iPhone
Open Control Centre and drag the Brightness slider to the bottom.
The Auto-Brightness feature on the iPhone adjusts the screen brightness to lighting conditions automatically. Here’s how you can activate it:
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Display & Text Size and set Auto-Brightness to On.
Using Wi-Fi also consumers less battery when compared to being on mobile data. Keeping Wi-Fi on at all times will help in saving battery on the iPhone.
Enable Low Power Mode
Apple introduced Low Power Mode a while back on the iPhone and it does extend the battery life. When your battery level goes down to 20 per cent — and again at 10 per cent — the iPhone lets you turn on Low Power Mode with one tap. Alternatively, you can just go to Settings > Battery to turn it on.
“Low Power Mode reduces display brightness, optimises device performance and minimises system animations. Apps including Mail will not download content in the background, and features like AirDrop, iCloud sync and Continuity will be disabled. You can still use key functions like making and receiving phone calls, email and messages, accessing the Internet and more. And when your phone charges up again, Low Power Mode automatically switches off,” explains Apple on its website.
Turn off Background App Refresh
To improve battery life, you can turn off the feature that allows apps to refresh in the background. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and select Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi & Mobile Data. One can simply turn off Background App Refresh completely to save battery life.
Switch off location services
This is another feature that consumes quite a bit of battery life on the iPhone. You can optimise your battery life by turning off Location Services for the app. Simply, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and just turn it off.
Following the above tips may just help in saving the battery life of your iPhone.
