Dark Souls: Remastered and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin both include all available expansions for their respective games, in addition to drastically overhauld visuals and performance. After battling through the base games on Xbox 360 I can say these remasters are the best way to revisit these classics. Dark Souls III doesn’t get quite the same enhancements, but is still easily the RPG I’ve played through the most times in my life. If you’re looking to splurge and get all the DLC chapters for Dark Souls III you can also snag the Dark Souls III: Ultimate Edition for $21.

Save big on these VPN services ahead of Black Friday

The Dark Souls series has quickly become the defacto metric for difficutly in video gaming. “The Dark Souls of…” has become an infamous meme at this point and it’s almost impossible to ignore the flood of articles using the Souls games as comparisons when discussing a game’s inherent level of challenge. Despite the memes and parallels, the Dark Souls series still offers a captivating and unique experience. I really can’t recommend these games enough if you’re a fan of immersive RPGs. Now that they’re discounted for Black Friday, there’s no reason to skip out.
