Huawei had introduced the Mate 40 series yesterday, but the company took its sweet time publishing all the necessary details. Full Huawei Mate 40 series are finally official. They haven’t been published during or shortly after the launch event, it took Huawei a bit of time to do it.

The company also hasn’t talked in-depth about each of the phones during the launch event. Very few details were shared when it comes to the Mate 40, for example. We did our best to cover the initial launch, but not we can actually go in-depth when it comes to the specs.

Huawei announced four Mate 40 flagship smartphones with powerful specifications

Huawei announced four Mate 40 devices yesterday, the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS. The Porsche Design variant packs the same internals as the Mate 40 Pro, but it comes with a slightly different design. So we won’t really talk about its specs separately.

When it comes to the SoC, all three phones are quite similar. The Kirin 9000 fuels the Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+, while the Kirin 9000E is included inside the Mate 40. Those chips are almost identical, the only difference is that the Kirin 9000E includes 2 fewer GPU cores than the Kirin 9000 (24 vs 22). At least based on the information Huawei shared.

All phones offer high refresh rate displays

All three devices sport a fullHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro+ both include a 6.76-inch panel with a resolution of 2772 x 1344. The Mate 40, on the other hand, packs in a 6.5-inch 2376 x 1080 panel. The Mate 40 is the only one that sports a single display hole, the other two include a pill-shaped one.
