TL;DR

  • The OnePlus Nord 3 is already under testing, claims a new report.
  • The phone is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2023.
  • It’s reportedly codenamed “Larry.”

OnePlus last revealed a standalone numbered Nord device — the OnePlus Nord 2 — in 2021. Needless to say, it’s long overdue for an update. We saw the Nord 2T launch last year, but it was merely an iterative update to the Nord 2, as is the case with other “T” models in the OnePlus family. Now it seems OnePlus is finally ready to launch a full-fledged successor to the powerful Nord 2 in the form of the OnePlus Nord 3.

A report from MySmartPrice claims that Nord 3 is currently under testing in India. The phone has also been developed in the country, the outlet reports. While OnePlus may be working on the Nord 3 in India, it doesn’t mean the launch of the phone would be restricted to the country.

The Nord 2 was also made available in Europe, and the UK, in addition to India. The same was the case with the original Nord. We expect the Nord 3 to follow the same launch plan. Yes, that means no US launch for the affordable OnePlus phone.

Nevertheless, the latest leak insinuates that the Nord 3 could also see a June/July launch like its predecessors. We also now know that the phone is possibly codenamed “Larry,” so we expect other tipsters and code sleuths to dig up more information on it in the coming months.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on the specs of the Nord 3 as of now.
