LA SALLE, Ill. — AgriNews is not letting the cancellation of county fairs and state fairs stop the celebration of 4-H. Next month, AgriNews will launch the first-ever “Celebrate 4-H” contest online at So, get out your camera or camera phone and take a picture of your children and grandchildren with their 4-H projects now. They can be posted on the AgriNews website later this summer to help recognize the youths’ talent, effort and skill. From Aug. 6 to Aug. 26, photos can be uploaded in five categories. Then, from Aug. 27 to Sept. 9, everyone can vote for their favorite in each category. A panel of 4-H judges will also pick their favorites. Ten winners — the people’s choice and the judges’ favorite in the five categories — will each receive a $50 gift card. The winners and a collection of other entries will be published in a special section of AgriNews on Sept. 25. Entrants will be asked to share basic information, such as name, 4-H club and years in 4-H, and describe the 4-H project in their photo.
