Elite: Dangerous is an excellent space simulator that features a massive open galaxy and plenty of activities. It came out on Xbox One a few years ago and has since then received incredible post-launch support. Despite the fact that Frontier Developments has worked on titles like Jurassic World Evolution and others, Elite: Dangerous continues to get expansions and free content.
Today, the developer confirmed that Fleet Carriers are coming in the December Update. These huge ships can support up to 16 ships and are available to any Elite Dangerous Commander to purchase. Keep in mind that you can only buy one because they’re really, really big.
Before the December Update, there’s the September Update. This is focused on improving the starter experience for new players. The team is adding a fully-voiced tutorial covering the basics of space flight, combat, traveling, and scanning. This was desperately needed because the learning curve without a guided tutorial is very high. This is quite possibly the biggest barrier to entry.
The September Update will also rebrand Frontier Points as Arx. Arx are microtransaction used to buy in-game cosmetics. Luckily, you can also earn them through various missions. The update is coming on September 17 on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, so the wait isn’t too long.
