Warriors star Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha, who have long taken steps to help needy kids and families throughout the Bay Area, are now taking their philanthropic efforts nationwide.

The couple announced Thursday the creation of a fundraiser on Facebook, using their Eat.Learn.Play Foundation to raise money for Feeding America during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Currys’ foundation has a goal of $200,000 for the fundraiser that launched Thursday morning. All of the proceeds will be funneled to Feeding America, the nonprofit organization that feeds more than 46 million people in its network of more than 200 food banks. And, as the Currys noted, Feeding America’s efforts are needed even more with school closures, job disruptions and lost wages affecting so many.

“We are grateful for Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation’s partnership to raise funds to help Feeding America provide people with the food they need during this challenging time,” Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said in a release. “Their latest fundraiser is a testament to Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s ongoing commitment to feeding children and their families, especially at this moment, when many more people will be at risk of hunger as they cope with this crisis.”
