Codemasters makes some of the most popular racing games on the planet and after a recent reveal for F1 2020 and the launch of GRID in late 2019, the attention has turned back to its big-hitting off road title. DiRT is getting a new game, teased for the first time in a letter to the community by the developer.
The bad news is that DiRT Rally 2.0 seems to have reached the end of its new content cycle.
Whilst there are no plans for additional Seasons for DiRT Rally 2.0, some minor updates and surprises are planned. At this stage, the Rally team is now focusing on the future. By no means are we saying this is “the end” for DiRT Rally 2.0. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Challenges live on, Clubs are stronger than ever and you have plenty of esports action to look forward to.
Nothing’s moving in terms of your usual hangout spaces (the Forums, the fan-made Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Twitter) and your support team for DiRT Rally 2.0 are still very much here to help.
There will be a new DiRT Rally game in the future it seems, but we’re not going to hear about that for a while.
Instead, what comes next seems to be something new. And the tease is “prepare for something…different”.
Whilst one journey remains FLAT OUT, another journey is about to begin.

It could be DiRT 5, perhaps a return to the Showdown series not seen since the previous generation consoles, or it could, as is implied, be something completely different. The Codemasters Twitter account has also changed its logo which could be relating to a forthcoming announcement.
In the meantime, DiRT Rally 2.0 is available to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 as part of Xbox Game Pass.
