Great value for money, this mid-range laptop offers plenty of storage space and copes well with simple tasks. The battery life is disappointing but considering its affordable price, tag we think it’s a great buy.

GHI Expert Verdict

If you’re looking for style and substance on a budget, the Asus VivoBook S15 S530UA is a great buy. At under £500, this laptop copes well with word processing, web surfing and even some basic photo editing tasks. Its 15.6in screen is clear and sharp. Even better, the ErgoLift hinge tilts the keyboard upwards by 3.5 degrees to making typing more comfortable. It does compromise on battery, in our tests the laptop lasted just under three hours when watching videos, but we still think it’s a great buy.
