As per the report, the iPhone 12 is expected to be launched at $649, which is less than what iPhone 11 was launched at — $699.
This year, however, Apple is rumoured to include 4 models in the iPhone 12 lineup. The first model is expected to offer a 5.4-inch OLED display, 2 cameras on the back with 5G connectivity support and is alleged to cost $649. The second iPhone 12 model with a slightly bigger display of 6.1-inch is said to cost $749.
The iPhone 12 Pro model is expected to be priced at $999 and said to offer triple camera setup and 6.1-inch display. Lastly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max handset is said to cost $1,099 and offer a 6.7-inch display.
Last month, a report by Bloomberg claimed that Apple is going to redesign its flagship iPhone models “as part of a major fall refresh.” This redesign may come with reduced size of the notch. “Apple is investigating removing the cutout at the top of the display for the selfie camera and Face ID sensors in future designs, and it’s likely to reduce that notch in size with this year’s models,” said the report.
The report cites people who are familiar with Apple’s plans and claims that these redesigned aspects will be borrowed from the recently launched iPad Pro. The successors to the iPhone 11 Pro models are said to offer flat stainless steel edges in place of the curved rounded corners. They are also said to offer flat displays in place of sloping edges of the latest generation iPhone models.
