If you’ve invested in an iPhone 12, then the MagSafe charger and leather wallet accessories may look tempting. From March 3, though, there will be another accessory to attach to the back of your smartphone in the form of a wireless battery pack.

As 9To5Mac reports, the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank isn’t an official MagSafe accessory, it’s just compatible with MagSafe. That doesn’t stop it being a very useful addition to your bag or pocket, though. The 5,000mAh battery it contains promises to completely recharge an iPhone 12 mini while also getting an iPhone 12, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max well above 90% charged. And for many iPhone 12 owners it’s going to be an instant-buy considering Anker is only charging $39.99 for the battery pack.

Anker promises the PowerCore works “flawlessly” with all iPhone 12 models and will also recharge your phone through a compatible magnetic case. Included in the box with the charging pack is a USB-C to USB-C cable, a welcome guide, and an 18-month warranty for peace of mind.

Last week, we heard reports that Apple is developing an official MagSafe Battery Pack, but it has a number of problems to overcome including the battery overheating. We can also expect that if it does eventually release, the price tag is likely to be close to $100 based on how much Apple charges for its Smart Battery Cases.
