A Moreno Valley man has been charged with murder in two November homicides, one near that city and one in Colton.
The Riverside County District Attorney’s office charged Dominique Kyles, 28, with both murders on Tuesday, Nov. 24, according to a news release from the Colton Police Department.
The first incident was reported on Nov. 7 in the 600 block of Colton Avenue. The victim was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound, and died at a hospital, Colton police said. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family identification.
On Nov. 9, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies began investigating a suspicious death of Christian Cazarez, 37, of Moreno Valley, at a residence in the 13700 block of Laurene Lane, just east of that city.
The sheriff’s department arrested Kyles for Cazarez’ murder on Nov. 20. Detectives from both agencies believed Kyles was also responsible for the Colton murder, according to the police department. A search warrant at Kyles’ residence turned up a firearm and other evidence, Colton police added.
Kyles is being held without bail on one second degree murder charge and two first degree murder charges according to sheriff’s department jail information.
The investigations are continuing, and anyone with information can contact Colton Detective Jason Hanna at 909-370-5142, or sheriff’s investigators Hollingsworth at 951-791-3400 or Mendoza at 951-955-2777.
