A fire burning in Jurupa Valley grew to 40 acres on Saturday afternoon and was threatening seven structures, officials said.

Dubbed the Karen Fire, the blaze near Sierra Avenue and Karen Lane burned through light grass at a moderate rate, according to a tweet from the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.

Southern California Incident Command said in a tweet Saturday afternoon that seven structures were threatened.

Smoke from the fire was visible from Fontana and throughout the valley. Details on how the fire started were not immediately available.
