The SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB solid state drive is down to $44.99 on Amazon. This drive has been selling for averaging around $53 and this is the first time we’ve ever seen it drop below $45. This deal is exclusive to Prime members.
While 240GB is not huge, you shouldn’t find yourself micro-managing your data too much and it is enough space to run your operating system from for some nice speed improvements. If you need more space, you might want to consider upgrading to the 480GB version, which dropped to $75 from a price closer to $80 recently, or one of the larger 960GB or 1TB drives.
The SSD Plus is SanDisk’s entry-level SSD. It’s built using SanDisk’s MLC NAND, which is unusual for an inexpensive SSD like this. You’d expect it to be built with TLC, which is usually cheaper. MLC is also more reliable than TLC and can withstand more read/write cycles. That’s all good stuff for anyone interested in this drive. SanDisk says the SSD Plus has read and write speeds of 535 MB/s and 450 MB/s. It is also shock and vibration resistant.
