Take it like a pro: How to make your smartphone fireworks photos sparkle | Photos

Tips for shooting fireworks on your smartphone:

1. Shoot in burst mode

Many smartphones allow users to take a rapid succession of images simply by holding down the capture button for an extended period. By doing this, you’ll be able to select the best image from the group. The more photos you take, the better chance you’ll have of getting a keeper!

2. Think about composition

Some of the best fireworks photos are paired with an object in the foreground or background to make them even more spectacular. Including your surroundings to frame the fireworks or giving a sense of place only add to your image and make it unique. So get creative with what you’ve got to work with around you.

3. Take a video or Boomerang

Sometimes the best way to see fireworks is in motion. Take a video of the show and use special effects to make it unique. I would suggest slow motion for a dramatic effect, a time lapse to showcase a long firework display, or a Boomerang-style to show a firework burst go in and out on a loop.
