SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – In Sussex County one senior transportation service is expanding its services to other parts of the first state. Currently the Independent Transportation Network of Southern Delaware is only available in the Lewes and Rehoboth areas. But now officials say that’s all going to change. Executive Director of ITN Southern Delaware, Janis Hanwell, says the company plans to offer more coverage in areas including Milford, Milton, Seaford, and Bridgeville. The company offers a range of services for seniors living in Sussex County including transporting them to medical appointments as well as helping them maintain their independence.

“It will improve quality of live in Sussex County for everyone. We will bringing more seniors to local businesses so it’s good for the economy,” said Hanwell.

Hanwell adds the transportation service is looking to begin operating in Ocean View, Bethany, Selbyville– Frankfort, and Dagsboro by the start of the summer. And adds that she hopes to have the whole county covered with these services by 2019.
