ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) — The Purple Heart is proud to announce its Legacy Truck Run across the country.

Ed Sherling Ford in Enterprise was the first city in Alabama where the truck stopped.

The truck is converted fully into handicap access for disabled veterans.

Local members of the Purple Heart are thrilled to have this opportunity in their own back yards.

“I’ve been working on this thing now about a month and a half. I’m just beside myself on this truck,” said Enterprise Purple Heart Commander Robert Green. “The capabilities on this truck are awesome. It’s something to see. I want people to come out and see it.”

The truck is going to Birmingham Thursday afternoon and will make several more stops before arriving in Spokane, Washington for the Purple Heart’s National Convention.

The truck is going 7,800 miles across the country. People are encouraged to sign the truck in support of the Purple Heart along the way.
