Potential landing gear issue forces plane to return to Cherry Capital Airport


A Delta Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Cherry Capital Airport Wednesday night after a potential landing gear problem.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A plane flying out of Cherry Capital Airport was forced to return Wednesday night.

Delta Flight 4118 was scheduled to fly from Traverse City to Minneapolis-St. Paul.

After taking off, the flight crew was alerted to a potential landing gear problem.

The plane circled for about 45 minutes before landing safely back at Cherry Capital.

Delta is rescheduling flights for the 48 passengers on board.

Cherry Capital said Delta is inspecting the plane to discover what sparked the alert.
