Huawei P20 Pro released last year and is still one of the best value Android smartphones you can get your hands on.
The hardware was the first to come with a triple-camera system and a dedicated night mode that allowed for bright and detailed photos to be snapped in low-light conditions.
Since its 2018 debut, the Huawei handset has crashed in price and can now be picked up for as little as £529.
However, the Chinese tech giant has just announced a new budget handset, the P30 Lite, that has two major advantages over the P20 Pro.
Not only is the P30 Lite priced much lower than the P20 Pro, but it also has a wide-angle camera system that allows the phone to capture images that are simply not possible on the 2018 device.
The P30 Lite comes with a 6.15-inch LCD display that has the resolution of 2312×1080, a density of 415-pixels-per-inch and should make for a very capable content viewing experience.
The hardware has a small border below its display and a tiny notch at the top.
P30 Lite is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 710 processor and has 4GB of RAM.
One of the most appealing aspects about the device is its triple-camera system that is formed of a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel depth lens that is used for bokeh.
Moreover, the P30 Lite also touts Huawei’s signature night mode within its camera software that should dramatically improve shots in low-light conditions.
Huawei’s new budget device comes with a 3340mAh battery that should deliver all-day life for Android fans.
Discussing the new handset, Walter Ji, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group for the Western European Region, said: “Last year we launched an industry first triple lens camera on our flagship phones which included an ultra-wide angle lens.
“Today we launch this with the Huawei P30 lite giving people even more tools to explore creative possibilities.
“This is our next step in providing consumers with the best possible smartphone camera experience and bring meaningful innovation to every person in the world.“
The P30 Lite will be available to purchase on May 10 and retails for £329.
Huawei’s budget hardware will come in Peacock Blue, Pearl White and Midnight Black colours.
