Mobile Police searching for teen wanted for murder, shooting into apartments

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – The Mobile Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 19-year-old Fabian Russell.

Police say Russell is wanted for shooting into an occupied dwelling and an unoccupied vehicle. He is also wanted for murder.

According to MPD, the incident took place on June 22 where they say Russell shot into several apartments and vehicles at 651 Azalea Road. Witnesses at the apartment complex identified Russell as a suspect in that crime in a photo lineup.

Russell was already out on bond on a murder charge from the October 2016 shooting of 17-year old Jacob Thomas. Thomas was shot to death at a gas station on St. Stephens Road. Russell was initially charged with robbery in connection to that crime. A grand jury indicted Russell on a Felony Murder charge. A warrant to revoke Russell’s bond was issued on July 5, because he was a suspect in another crime while out on bond.

18-year old Christopher Logan is also charged with murder and robbery in the death of Jacob Thomas. Since being out on bond on those charges, Logan was arrested in June 2017 on drug charges and was allowed to bond out on the new charges. He is currently out of jail.

Police say Russell should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Mobile Police at 251-208-7211.
