ALABAMA’S HOUSE SPEAKER GAVE AN HOUR-LONG LESSON IN LAWMAKIN MCCUTCHEON WALKED THE JURY THROUGH WHAT A JOINT RESOLUTION IS AND HOW IT IS PASSED. THE 2015 RESOLUTION IN QUESTION URGED INCREASED OPPOSITION TO THE EPA’S ACTIONS IN ALABAMA. ATTORNEYS JOEL GILBERT, STEVE MCKINNEY AND COAL EXEC. DAVID ROBERSON ARE ON TRIAL FOR BRIBERY. THEY’RE ACCUSED OF PAYING FORMER LAWMAKER OLIVER ROBINSON TO HELP FIGHT THE EPA IN NORTH BIRMINGHAM. EARLIER TODAY, PROSECUTORS SHOWED GILBERT WROTE THE RESOLUTION, WHICH LEGISLATORS LATER PASSED. THEY ASKED MCCUTCHEON ABOUT THE DAY A COMMITTEE VOTED ON THE RESOLUTION TO SEND IT TO THE FULL HOUSE. GEORGE MARTIN ASKED MCCUTCHEON, WAS MR.
