Ground transportation changes coming to Metro Airport, along with construction | News

Starting July 13, SMART and AirRide customers traveling to and from the McNamara Terminal will be dropped off and picked up on the departures level of the terminal.

SMART and AirRide buses will stop on the north end (near door No. 1).

According to airport officials, the change is expected to be more convenient for customers using municipal transportation and reduce traffic in the Ground Transportation Center.

In addition to that change, construction also is expected to begin at that time on a portion of the McNamara Terminal Ground Transportation Center to repair expansion joints in the center.

All shuttles temporarily will be relocated to the domestic arrivals roadway on Level 1.

Anyone planning to use a shuttle or charter bus to depart the airport from the McNamara Terminal should follow the green signage and floor arrows to the first level and exit to the roadway.

Officials estimate all construction work will be completed by July 22.
