To the editor:
After reading a recent letter to the editor, I wanted to make sure it’s clear how MBTA customers can pay for parking at our North Quincy and Wollaston lots.
As noted in the letter, we have removed parking attendants — so you no longer have to stop to pay and take a ticket. This saves everyone time in the morning since you don’t have to wait in line to pay.
To be clear: one does not need a smartphone to be able to park at MBTA lots. While the easiest and fastest way to pay is using the PayByPhone mobile app, we have two options for people without smartphones:
PayByPhone at 1-866-234-7275 by using a credit card and providing a license plate number.
A monthly bill in the mail. The bill is delivered to the registered address of the vehicle’s owner, and he/she can pay it online or by sending a check.
We are constantly working on ways to make the MBTA parking system better, easier, and faster to use for all of our customers. We have received favorable feedback on this new system, and hope that this makes everyone’s commute a little bit better.
