Strategy and Architecture
The University has recently embarked on an ambitious programme to transform its legacy IT systems into sector leading student, academic and support staff facing digital services. The architecture function delivers creative enterprise, solution and security architectures and supporting governance frameworks to enable the university to transform its IT services through strategic digital solutions and underlying systems.
The strategy and architecture function is a small, specialised team of Enterprise Architects with skills in business architecture, information architecture and infrastructure architecture and is currently expanding to provide strategic demand management services to the University.
It covers setting the University IT Strategy, defining the associated Roadmaps to achieve the vision and programme and project architectural governance. It will also include providing solution architecture services to projects.
This role will be focused on the specific needs of Research at the University of Manchester.
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy and Architecture, you will be a highly engaging and customer-focused individual who possesses an enthusiasm for working within the largest University in the UK
You will be able to demonstrate your experience of being able to define, develop and implement organization wide strategies for digital services capabilities, in line with good practice, ensuring value is delivered the University.
Along with producing and maintaining strategies and roadmaps, you will be expected to create and deliver best practice, processes, standards and services to provide architectural governance and across transformational change programmes.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills will ensure cross University buy in to our proposed strategies and gain University funding and support for our strategic roadmap. It will also be highly beneficial when demonstrating the benefits of new technologies when moving towards a digital environment, taking the University on a new journey.
Through strong and effective leadership, you will give direction to and motivate a diverse team of individuals. This will ensure excellent team performance and continued personal development in a matrix management environment.
