A federal appeals court seemed skeptical about whether the Federal Communications Commission unreasonably exempted small-cell wireless equipment locations from historic preservation and environmental reviews.

U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Judge David S. Tatel questioned the argument by 18 American Indian tribes and an environmental advocacy group that federal law requires reviews of 5G-critical small cells, even though the FCC doesn’t demand permits to build them.
