The Jamaican Stock Exchange (JSE) has begun research and development of a platform to bring crypto asset trading to the Jamaican people.
In a recent article published by Coindesk, MD of the JSE, Marlene Street Forrest believes cryptocurrencies are investment products like equities and bonds that should be reaily available and safe to trade for investors.
Street Forrest quoted on the idea – “So the end game at the end of the day is to trade tokens, the end game is smart contacts, the end game is to provide that area of the market that would like this product, to start to do so in a secure manner.”
The JSE is utilzing Blockstation to assist with the platform which will include features to monitor market manipulation and to ensure investment security. The JSE will be looking to roll out the new trading platform by the end of 2018 but admits they are in no rush and would like to ensure that everything is correctly operating before launching.
The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has partnered with blockchain startup Blockstation for the creation of a crypto trading platform.
