COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Danish hearing aid maker Widex and German peer Sivantos received approval of their merger application from the EU Commission on Thursday, Widex said in a statement.

The merger creates a company with total earnings of over 1.7 billion euros ($1.92 billion), it said.

The merger is expected to be concluded in early March.
