The China-based Kandi Electric Vehicles Group (NASDAQ: KNDI) today cracked open the door for its electric vehicles to enter the United States by announcing that its wholly-owned subsidiary Zhejiang JiHeKang Electric Vehicles Sales Co has signed a sales agreement with Sportsman Country.
Under the deal’s terms, JiHeKang will ship its first electric vehicle prototypes to the US before August 10. The shipment will include the Model EX3 car as well as Model K22, which have been designed for Americans.
Sportsman, meanwhile, will bear responsibility for the sale of these electric vehicles. The Dallas-based company, which specializes in the sale of off-road vehicles, was acquired by Kandi Technologies, Kandi Electric Vehicles’ parent company, just this month.
Kandi Technologies Group has seen its shares jump 14% on the news of the sale of electric vehicles in the US.
Headquartered in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, Kandi is engaged in the research and development, manufacturing and sale of various vehicle products. Kandi conducts most of its business through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kandi Vehicles and the partially and wholly-owned subsidiaries of Kandi Vehicles.
