The Cherokee County School District has introduced a smartphone app that gives students, parents, school staff and others another way to report safety concerns to district police and administrators.
The free app can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store or Google Play for Android phones. It can be used to report threats, bullying, harassment, drugs, vandalism, concerns about a classmate’s well-being, or any other safety issue, district officials said.
The app icon is a life preserver. New users must enter “1695” for the ID and confirm their district is the Cherokee County School District. Those experiencing a real-time emergency should continue to call 911.
“This new app provides one more option for our students, parents, staff and community to ‘See Something, Say Something,’” said district Superintendent Brian V. Hightower.
