Ever since Xbox One backward compatibility was announced, gamers have been asking for a few high-profile games. While the
majority of requests revolve around the Call of Duty franchise, the Castlevania franchise has been other hot series. Today, Microsoft announced that Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is now backward compatible.
Backward compatibility opens Xbox One to a huge variety of games, spanning three generations of Microsoft’s consoles. Despite hardware differences, it remains an outstanding feature, allowing a select library of older games to be played on Xbox One. While the majority of them are Xbox 360 titles, there are also some original Xbox games in there. To date, gamers have enjoyed well over a billion hours of backward compatible games, and the catalog now includes over five hundred Xbox 360 games alone.
According to Fandom, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is a multiplayer Xbox Live Arcade game featuring characters, sprites, and locations from several different Castlevania titles. The story involves a cursed book called the Grimoire and a castle. The castle comes to life within the pages of the book, taking various forms from previous incarnations, and the heroes of the past, must once again fight to put an end to the curse.
